We are incredibly proud to announce that Tazewell Primary and Tazewell Intermediate have been selected out of only 31 schools to serve as Crayola Creativity Week Global Ambassador Schools!
Chosen from more than 1200 applicants globally, our school division will represent creativity, innovation, and student-centered learning on a global stage during Crayola Creativity Week (January 26–February 1).
Tazewell County Public Schools will operate on a regular schedule Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
TCPS will operate on a virtual schedule for Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Meal service will be provided from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All employees report at 10:00 a.m.

The Labor of Love Mission has asked us to help spread the word that they will be giving out free coats for adults and children from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Nuckholls Hall in Tazewell.

Jillian Crisp and Lillian Wimmer were both recognized by the Tazewell County School Board because they were selected as officers for the Virginia Jobs for Virginia Graduates Career Associations and invited to Washington. Jillian served as a state delegate and Lillian served as state secretary. Way to go, ladies! 🎉
The Tazewell County School Board recognized Sophia Robinson on her selection to the Virginia Department of Education's Student Advisory Board. Representing Region VII, Sophia will advise the Virginia Board of Education from a student perspective on key policy issues. Members of the Advisory Board are selected for their outstanding academic achievement and passion for advancing educational policy in Virginia. Congratulations, Sophia!

GOALS:
Explain the health risks and potential long-term effects of nicotine and vape use in youth.
Identify common and new types of vaping products and nicotine delivery systems popular today among adolescents.
Outline prevention strategies proven to help reduce youth vaping and nicotine use.
Identify the poison center as a resource for poisoning prevention programs and immediate help when a poisoning is suspected via the Poison Help Line.
