We want to thank Pow/Mia Memorial Overlook Group, Riding It Forward Inc., Jim and Pat Ray, and Ronnie and Betty Compton for donating this beautiful bench which now sits out in front of Richlands High School. Students from Mr. Robert Steele's masonry class at TCCTC poured the concrete below the bench. They did a fantastic job and we are so thankful for their hard work and Mr. Steele’s instruction. Pictured below in various photos are the masonry students, Mr. Steele, Mr. Smith, RHS Faculty who are veterans, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray.

The Graham High School boys basketball team was recognized at this week’s school board meeting for their historic Class 2A State Championship. The last time Graham won a state basketball championship was in 1956.
After capturing both the regular season and Southwest District Tournament championships, the G-Men faced Wise Central in the Region 2D contest, where they fell 57–64. Undeterred, they entered the state tournament with something to prove.
The G-Men traveled to Franklin County to take on Floyd County, securing a hard-fought 59–56 victory to keep their championship hopes alive. That win set up a rematch with Wise Central, and this time, the determined G-Men prevailed, defeating them 52–43 to advance to the State Championship game.
The team then traveled to Richmond, where they completed their remarkable run by defeating Central Woodstock to claim the Class 2A State Championship! Congrats to these students and coaches on an outstanding season! 🎉

Richlands High School’s wrestling team was recognized by the school board this week for being the Southwest District Champions and for earning 4th place at the state tournament!

The THS Indoor Track Team was recognized by the school board this week. Drake Young placed 2nd in the 3200m and 6th in the 1600. Leah Keene placed 6th in the Triple Jump. Leah is also the THS nominee for the prestigious Gene “Pappy” Thompson Award given by the Bristol Herald Courier. Congrats! 🎉

At this month’s school board meeting, students from Graham High School who recently traveled to Richmond, Virginia to participate in the Model General Assembly Program were recognized. Since 1871, this program has provided students with a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the democratic process, while strengthening their communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. It also inspires a lasting commitment to public service and meaningful civic engagement. We are proud of these students for representing their school and community with distinction. The students were led by Mr. Lee Brown and Mr. Matthew Dixon.
