Tazewell Intermediate School hosted a fun-filled Math Harvest Night on 10/21/25! Families joined in fall-themed math games, hands-on activities, and learning fun. Thanks to everyone who made it a great evening of family engagement and learning!

Abb’s Valley-Boissevain Elementary hosted a cozy and fun-filled “S’more Reading Please” themed Family Engagement Event on October 16, 2025!

Thanks to the clicker count in the library, we’re excited to share that 113 people attended the event! Families enjoyed time together while celebrating the joy of reading, with a campfire-inspired atmosphere, sweet treats, and great books.

At tonight’s school board meeting, Richlands High School student Tyler Howard was recognized alongside his masonry instructor, Mr. Robert Steele. Tyler earned first place in the SkillsUSA Masonry Competition at the Virginia State Fair. Congratulations, Tyler, and great job to Mr. Steele for his excellent instruction! 🎉

Tonight our hearts are heavy as we remember our Supervisor of Technology, Randy Mullins, at this evening’s school board meeting.His dedication, leadership, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. 💛🇺🇸

🚨 October 7, 2025 — There was an arrest outside Richlands High School. The individual never entered the building and was not found with any weapons. Authorities responded quickly, and there was no direct threat to students or staff.

The School Nutrition Department is eagerly seeking individuals for our substitute roster. Tazewell Primary School hosted a Family Engagement Meeting on 9/23/25. Students participated in a Heartword Heroes themed reading journey. The children participated in a "Roll, Read, and Race" game, a "Sightword Scavenger Hunt," and a "Build, Stack, and Read" game using cups!
