NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
ON INTERIM APPOINTMENT TO THE SCHOOL BOARD
REPRESENTING THE
NORTH WESTERN DISTRICT POSITION
The Tazewell County School Board will hold a public hearing on October 12, 2026, 7:15 p.m. at the Tazewell County Career and Technical Center - Student Center, 260 Advantage Drive, Tazewell, VA 24651, for the purpose of receiving public comments on the interim appointment of a person to fill the vacancy representing the North Western District seat on the Board and serve on the Board until the term expires in December 2027 and the vacancy is otherwise filled by the general election on or about November 3, 2027.
The names of the applicants for the North Western District seat on the Board will be announced at the hearing in accordance with Virginia Code Section 24.2-228.
During public hearing, the Board will receive the views of citizens within the school division relative to the qualifications of persons who should be considered to fill the position and specific candidates.
