School Meals at No Charge for All TCPS Students

Tazewell County will be serving meals at no charge to children 18 and under. You must have a completed meal application. Although school meals will be free, school funding depends on completed meal applications. Click on the file below for more information.

About Us

Tazewell County Public Schools administers all public schools in Tazewell County, Virginia. The school system is managed by the School Board based in Tazewell, Virginia. The division superintendent is Dr. Christopher B. Stacy.

We have 5,404 students currently enrolled in our schools.
We ranked #10 in Virginia for our 2019 SOL results. 
Our pupil/teacher ratio for grades K-7 is 11.75:1.
Our  pupil/teacher ratio for grades 8-12 is 10.55:1.
Our composite index is .2575
Our per pupil expenditure for 2019 was $9,616.
We had a 64 million dollar operating budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. 
We are the largest employer in Tazewell County, Virginia.
We have 836 employees. 734 of our employees are full-time employees and 102 are part time employees.
