
We celebrated Ms. Lindsay Buchanan recently as part of National Assistant Principals week. We are grateful for her and for all she does for our school. She does a wonderful job supporting our students and staff. Thank you, Ms. Buchanan!


We want to honor all of our amazing paraprofessionals at RES. Thank you for all of your hard work throughout the school year. You each do a fantastic job in assisting Richlands Elementary School so every child can be safe, learn, grow, and achieve. We appreciate your kindness, compassion, and dedication to our school. Thank you!


Regional History Day was held at Emory and Henry. RES 4th grade students placed in the Group Category. Ella-Rae and Anistyn won first place. Rickie and Cameron placed second. Sierrah, Kynlee, and Sadie placed third. Canaan and Liam placed fourth. The first through third placed groups will move on to the State History Day in Richmond. Congratulations to these students and the other students who participated. Everyone did a phenomenal job. Thank you to Ms. Luttrell, Mr. Wright, and all those who have helped our students in these competitions.






We are so proud of these fourth graders who have worked hard on their History Day projects and will compete tomorrow morning at Emory & Henry.

Due to the timing of the solar eclipse and school dismissal, Tazewell County Public Schools will release students on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.

Richlands Area:
No Bus 5!
Bus 1 will take students on Raven Circle and Mill Creek.
Bus 14 will take students on Ball Rd., Reedy Rd., Westmont, and Rodeo Rd.
Bus 64 will take students that live on the four lane from Food City Gas N Go to the last Raven exit.
Bus 65 will take students to Silver Spur and Food City Gas N Go.

RES Third graders went to Tazewell for their Living Soils field trip. The students learned so much about our soil today.







RES was visited by students in the RHS Band today. All students were invited to try out the different instruments to see which ones they liked best. Everyone enjoyed themselves.








RMS Choir came to RES to demonstrate some of their musical selections for our fifth-grade students who will be moving up to RMS in the fall.
