Abb’s Valley-Boissevain Elementary hosted a cozy and fun-filled “S’more Reading Please” themed Family Engagement Event on October 16, 2025!
Thanks to the clicker count in the library, we’re excited to share that 113 people attended the event! Families enjoyed time together while celebrating the joy of reading, with a campfire-inspired atmosphere, sweet treats, and great books.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the evening such a warm success! ❤️

🚨 Early Dismissal Notice – Abbs Valley Elementary School
Due to a propane leak in the building at Abbs Valley Elem., students who attend there will be released at 10:30 AM today.
All students have been relocated to:
Christ First United Methodist Church
📍 6972 Abbs Valley Road, Bluefield, VA 24605
Parents and buses may pick up students at that location.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Each school will send home consent forms and parent letters for the flu clinics. You may also see your school nurse for the consent forms. Consent forms must be returned by students and staff by October 15th.
