Good Attendance = A chance to win a Nintendo Switch!!!

Communities in Schools will be hosting a Family Paint & Snack Night October 8th at 5pm in the Abbs Valley Cafeteria. All Snacks and Painting Supplies will be provided.

I have been advised by the Sheriff's office that the investigation in regard to the anonymous threat shared on Facebook has been deemed not credible for our schools. It appears this same post, or very similar posts, have impacted school divisions across several counties and states over the past several days. As always TCPS will take all threats seriously and will continue to work with our partners in law enforcement. Thank you to all of our town and county officers for working to keep our students, faculty, and staff safe. We will continue to see an increased police presence in all of our schools. We are also working diligently to get our metal detectors in place and operational for another level of school security. Thanks to all of our school personnel for being there for our students and keeping our schools safe!
-Dr. Chris Stacy, TCPS Superintendent
We are aware of a threatening post that has been circulating on social media. It appears to be similar to what nearby school systems have received. We have referred this post to the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office which handles our school security program. They are taking appropriate actions to protect our schools.

Custodian Appreciation Day 2024

September Attendance Challenge

Today is TCPS Custodian, Maintenance, and Grounds Worker Appreciation Day! We would like to thank our staff for all they do to keep our schools looking beautiful!

Please help our school out by linking your Food City card to Abbs Valley Elementary School.

We have openings for substitute school nurses. If you are interested in applying, please visit Central Office at 506 Jeffersonville Street in Tazewell, Virginia. Please ask to speak with Mr. Glayde Brown or Ms. Kayla Myers. You may also call 276-988-5511 ext. 2220.

We know how busy the beginning of the school year can be for everyone, but we wanted to remind Parents how important it is to check book bags and folders daily to fill out Emergency Forms and other important paper work and send back to us asap. We would like to start getting students chrome-books handed out this week, but we need permission forms signed and returned.

As of Today Wednesday August 21st , Bus 96 will go back to its original route. Abbs Valley Road students will be dropped off first, Big Branch Rd students will be last.
